What does urgent care not cover?

We do not offer primary veterinary services, such as wellness visits, vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental cleanings, or routine surgeries, such as spay and neuter procedures, for dogs. These services are important, but are best handled during a scheduled visit with your family veterinarian.

We also do not treat life-threatening injuries or illnesses, such as:

  • Collapse or unconsciousness
  • Heatstroke
  • Kidney failure
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
  • Cardiac arrest

  • Paralysis
  • Parvovirus
  • Severe seizures
  • Severe burns

FAQ’s

No, you do not need an appointment to bring your dog in. Peak Pet Urgent Care is a walk-in facility. When you arrive, we will triage your dog to determine the urgency of their condition. We treat the sickest pets first, and stable pets are seen in the order they arrive.

If you are unsure whether urgent care is appropriate for your dog’s condition, give us a call. We would be happy to learn about your pet’s case and let you know if we can help.
Some of the most common signs of a pet emergency include:
  • Paralysis
  • Severe seizures
  • Collapse or unconsciousness
If your dog displays any of these signs, take them to the nearest emergency hospital immediately.
If we find that your dog needs critical care, overnight hospitalization, or a more advanced surgical procedure, we may perform initial diagnostics to help us better understand their health status and provide treatment to stabilize their condition. We will then help you plan for transfer to a nearby 24-hour facility.
We accept cash, personal checks, debit cards, major credit cards, and Care Credit, which is a healthcare credit card that many pet owners have in case their pet needs unexpected urgent or emergency care.
Yes. Pet health insurance is different from human health insurance in that you can visit any veterinarian you like. You will pay your pet’s bill and submit the claim to your pet insurance provider for reimbursement.
No, we are unable to offer payment plans. If you are not prepared to pay your pet’s full bill, we recommend using a third-party payment option, such as Care Credit.
There are often multiple treatment options that can help your dog feel better, and we will work with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your budget.
