Triage

Upon your pet’s arrival, we will gather information from you and quickly assess your pet’s condition. We address cases on a triage basis, meaning that the sickest patients will be seen first, and stable patients are seen in the order of arrival. If your pet’s condition is not critical, you may need to wait while our veterinary team attends to pets who need more urgent care.

Treatment

The majority of pet illnesses and injuries can be treated at Peak Pet Urgent Care, with your pet released to you the same day with at-home care instructions. Our veterinary team can even perform many urgent surgeries, including laceration repair, GI foreign body removal, Cesarean section, and bladder stone removal. If your pet requires hospitalization for ongoing treatment or post-operative care, we will coordinate care with one of our trusted partners and facilitate your pet’s transfer.

Follow-up Care

We will provide your family veterinarian with a copy of your pet’s medical record so they know exactly what care your pet received, and they can continue any necessary treatment.

Thorough Veterinary Assessment

When it is your pet’s turn, one of our support team will escort you into an exam room where your pet will be assessed more thoroughly. We will ask you questions to gather important information, and one of our veterinarians will perform a complete physical exam. Your veterinarian may recommend diagnostic tests, such as blood work or X-rays, to help them better understand your pet’s health status.

Treatment Plan and Estimate

Before starting diagnostics or treatment (unless your pet is in critical condition), we will prepare and present you with a treatment plan that includes the recommended diagnostic tests and treatments we anticipate. We will also prepare an estimate with a range of charges, so you know what to expect. After you approve the treatment plan and estimate, we will move forward with the planned diagnostic testing or treatments.

Testing

When your pet is sick, minutes count, and you want answers. We can perform most required diagnostic testing in our facility so we can reach an accurate diagnosis quickly. Our in-house laboratory allows us to perform blood work, parasite screening, and many other tests in minutes. We also have digital X-ray and ultrasound units that provide high-quality images to help us get to the bottom of your pet’s condition. Once we have your pet’s test results, your veterinarian will review the results with you and discuss treatment options.
